Beschreibung
Chicago in the 1930s had no idea that one man would cause so much havoc as a bank robber, and yet keep the public safe from harm. John Dillinger (Johnny Depp) was a modern day Robin Hood for people coping with the Great Depression, but not to the authorities who knew this prison escapee was an enemy to the public. Melvin Purvis (Christian Bale) is the FBI agent assigned to the case, enlisting the help of some harsh tactics to hunt down Dillinger, Baby Face Nelson and Pretty Boy Floyd.
It’s a twist-and-turns chase between the two as they try to outwit one another to victory. It’s not until the crime world takes over his happy lifestyle that Dillinger soon loses his friends, realises how cutthroat the crime scene is, and finds out firsthand how betrayal can come from anyone you know.
Based on the real life events of the Public Enemics era, Michael Mann (Heat, Hancock) has put together a film that sticks very close to the details of the period. Johnny Depp is renowned for his ability to portray the character he plays, and has put Dillinger on screen in a more realistic than any crime boss we’ve seen in film today.
